Las lipoprote\u00ednas de baja densidad pueden dividirse en dos categor\u00edas: LDL-C grande y ligero y colesterol de lipoprote\u00ednas de baja densidad peque\u00f1o y denso (sdLDL-C). En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, un n\u00famero creciente de estudios ha demostrado que el sdLDL-C tiene una fuerte capacidad para causar AS debido a sus caracter\u00edsticas \u00fanicas, como tener part\u00edculas de peque\u00f1o tama\u00f1o y baja densidad. Por lo tanto, esto se ha convertido en el foco de m\u00e1s investigaciones. Sin embargo, los mecanismos espec\u00edficos sobre la participaci\u00f3n del sdLDL-C en la AS a\u00fan no se han explicado completamente.
